10 Ways to Find Healthy Inspiration

Even the healthiest people have days where they feel completely uninspired.

  1. HAVE A MORNING RITUAL

You may have heard of the quote “life is getting up an hour early to live an hour more.” While I will never recommend sacrificing sleep, I truly believe that one of the key elements to living a healthy, productive lifestyle is starting each morning peacefully. What is my ritual? Waking up to the smell of coffee, playing Pandora’s Milky Chance radio, and making two soft boiled eggs to eat outside.

  1. DRINK MORE TEA

Almost all tea varieties, especially green tea, are incredible sources of antioxidants, so you can truly detoxify your body with each sip. Another healthy perk? Every sip of tea leaves your mouth too busy for you to be eating Girl Scout cookies, as delicious as they are. Health is all about balance.

  1. ATTEND A LOCAL YOGA CLASS

There is no better way to find health inspiration than to participate in an activity you love. It can be easy to get in a “rut” with yoga or exercise in general. One of my favorite ways to motivate myself is by practicing at a local yoga studio that I have never been to. Stepping out of comfort zones and trying new things can instantly get you out of a health funk.

  1. CHANGE YOUR BACKGROUND IMAGE

Busy schedules can make it hard to find time for exercise or time-intensive activities to find health inspiration. Quick fix? Change the background of your phone and computer to something inspirational. It can be as simple as a calming picture of nature, motivating quote, or the latest yoga pose you want to try out!

  1. STOP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS

Literally. Even better, get some flowers to place around your apartment and house. On the days where nothing seems to be going right or you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, you deserve to treat yourself! Placing flowers or plants in your living area can be an instant mood booster.

  1. PRESS PLAY AND DANCE AROUND

Dancing is movement and movement is healthy! Right? Honestly, I am probably the most uncoordinated dancer in the world, so the main benefit of dancing around my apartment is that I have a moment to just laugh at myself. This world can be crazy and sometimes we take ourselves way too seriously. Whether it is dancing around, singing into your hairbrush, or whatever you feel inspired to do… take a moment to loosen up and enjoy yourself!

  1. GO FOR A WALK OUTSIDE

There is nothing that will put you in touch with your surroundings than getting a breath of fresh air. Combine that with a walk and you have the perfect healthy combination.

  1. SPEND TIME WITH YOURSELF

Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert or something in between, everyone needs a moment to gather their thoughts. Find time in your day to rewind and de-stress. A simple moment to relax may inspire you!

  1. FOLLOW HEALTHY INSTAGRAMS

Or create one! I recently created a healthy Instragram called @healthyfoodandyoga and it has been an absolute blast! There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you are inspiring people. Even better? All of the Instagram foodies out there have amazing recipes to try out when you can’t figure out what healthy meal to make next!

  1. MAKE A GRATITUDE LIST

I am convinced that they key to happiness is gratitude, and it is so much easier to be healthy when you are happy. If you are reluctant to make a gratitude list, you are not alone. Start simple by writing down one thing a day you are grateful for, each day different from the last. Writing down what you appreciate can make you realize all of the wonderful parts of your life or the world in general.
