As a collegiate athlete, the road to injury prevention led Christy to practice yoga. Hooked by breath to body connection on the yoga mat, it felt like familiar territory of experiencing a sport performance zone. However after one class, she realized this was not just physical maintenance, but a way of life.
Before earning her 200-EYRT, Christy explored various yoga pathways, but found her passion with heated Power Vinyasa flow. As a student of the practice, she grew to learn how integration of asana, breath, and meditation opened layers of healing, challenge, and personal growth.
Christy’s journey into yoga, both on and off the mat, has allowed her to teach from an open space of the heart. She defines Y.O.G.A. as You On Gentle Awareness. Her classes focus of breath, fundamental alignment, and movement as an energy source. She encourages her students to move from a place that feels right for their body while offering variations to challenge and find an inner edge.
Currently, Christy teaches yoga at studios, health clubs, and to high school students in Orange County. Everyday she is grateful to live her passion and guide others to embrace their inner light by applying the valuable principles of yoga to daily life.
